Documentary Guided Reflection
1) What specific scene go to you? Describe and explain how it moved you. The scene that got to me the most throughout Dinosaur 13 was at the very beginning when the research team actually found Sue, the T-Rex fossil. I found it amazing that Susan Hendrickson just happened to stumble upon a T-Rex skeleton when she got lost out at the site. I was fascinated by all the work the research team had to put in to remove the fossil from the hillside. I think it is incredible that the largest T-Rex fossil ever found was a complete accident that took 17 days to remove. 2) What surprised you? Why do you think it caught you off guard? I was surprised that one of the Black Hills Institute research team members was originally facing a possible prison sentence that would be longer than the sentence given to a specific serial killer.
